May 16, 2008Have you taken actions yet?
Ways to donate to the Myanmar/Burma cyclone and China Earthquake disasters:
- UNICEF
- Red Cross
- World Vision
It’s really really unfortunate how we as a world had to experience two big disasters in one month. My best regards goes out to those who has been affected by the disasters in one way or the other.
Through It All…
April 17, 2008Today for lunch, I had Japanese ramen and honey green tea. I like the ramen’s soup base but otherwise, it was just okay and not particularly special. I must say it was quite expensive too for a bowl of noodle soup.
In the afternoon, I dropped by the mall. I finally found a pair of inexpensive charcoal leggings! It’s so hard to find because I refuse to spend a lot and I dislike the spandex type. I really like the pair I got.. however, I’m unsure what to wear with it? I also got a jewelry holder from Claire’s. I love it and I am so glad I got it!
Earlier, I checked if my grades are out yet and 2/3 of them are!! So far so good <3 I’m very satisfied and happy because I worked so hard. Part of me is really proud of myself that I feel rather emotional at the moment. Before the semester started, I always wonder if I’ll make it. During the semester when I realized there are days when I have two deadlines to meet, I was worried if I’ll make it but I worked hard. I never gave up and always continued to have a positive mindset, and I made it through <3 Now I just have to continue to work hard next semester because future life changing events will also depend highly on those marks. I will do everything I can to try to make it!
“…Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”- Joshua 1:9
Reminiscence & Food
April 7, 2008This afternoon, I tried a new bubble tea/Taiwanese place for lunch. I had the popular chicken nuggets rice and the original milk tea with pearls. It’s not too bad but not the best I’ve tried! I think it’s because they put kimchi as a side dish. It’s a bit strange seeing it there considering kimchi is Korean food. But yeah, I haven’t had bubble tea nor Taiwanese food for awhile so it was nice.
It also made me miss Taiwan! I really hope to go back one day, some day. To me, the rural areas is such a peaceful place especially the sight of coconut trees and rice fields. The city also has its own distinct feature; the liveliness of the night markets full of delicious food and inexpensive things to buy. And I can’t ever forget the motorcycle that is literally everywhere especially in the south. It would be such a dream if I could ride in one of those…!!
Before dinner, I also made cheesecake tarts since I had half a chunk of the cream cheese left. But this time, I think it turned out a bit soggy and sweet, but overall, it’s still edible. I made two that are chocolate
I think cooking/baking has became my outlet and new found passion… it’s fun and a good way to pass time… though it’s the cooking/baking process that makes it more enjoyable when I have people who are more than glad to try my works.
Daffodil
April 6, 2008A picture of a daffodil I took about 2 weeks ago.
I’m looking forward to the end of this week… when everything is done and I get to have a break from uni for about 3 weeks! I am looking forward to shopping (and crossing my fingers to crossing the border!), staying up late to watch dramas and movies, cooking and baking, and cleaning my room(s). This just reminds me of the time when my little cousin asked why my bedroom is so dusty and I had to constantly warn her not to touch my dresser or my desk because it’s very dusty. I should clean it as soon as possible. But for now, I’ll continue to work hard and hopefully continue to keep my pace … until the marathon is done.
I’m craving for bubble tea and freshly baked muffins.
Simple Things in Life
March 28, 2008I love the sight of the ocean … seeing the calm water and the endless body of water is so serene and calming. These are the true beauty of life. I think it would be an even better moment if the weather was warmer!

Just the other day, I was saying how the snow will (hopefully) be my last sight of snow for now… but NO! It snowed this morning and I thought I was dreaming… when I saw flurries! When I reached campus, it was heavily snowing and it was still snowing as I left campus at noon (but the weather was still in good condition for driving, Thankfully!). As I got off the mountain, it was only a mixture of snow-rain or simply rain.
Last night, I was thinking of how blessed I really feel. I realized that this year, many things have gone very smoothly and through it all, I owe it all to Him. I cannot express how Thankful I am <3 and I will continue to work hard and be the best I can be! Thank you to those who’ve lend me their hand or a simple support <3
