And more food

July 31, 2008

I am still alive, still in one piece. Thank God. After days of endless writing. I have one more paper left before the semester ends and two exams. I am anticipating everything after that :)

Recently I’ve been eating way too many Tim Horton’s. Enough said.

Over the past weekend, I had a very nice buffet dinner at a country club with my colleagues. Good food, good evening <3 My favorite was the chicken and the creme brulee <3

This afternoon, I made myself an awesome bagel sandwich inspired by the McD’s breakfast bagel. For mine, I had a toasted cheese bagel. Inside, I had sliced romania(?) lettuce and yellow pepper (which is actually for my salad), 2 slices of bacon, egg and bacon ranch dressing. I tried making the bacon crispy by deep frying it (just added more oil than usual!) and then put it in the oven. It worked.. and yeah, it was delicious ;)

Lately, I’ve also been interested in non & alcoholic cocktails. Virgin caesar is good and I have tried the alcoholic caesar.. but I used rum and afterwards, I found out most recipe uses vodka. The last time I drank vodka was quite awhile ago so I can’t remember exactly the smell or taste but I don’t recall smelling this ’strange’ aroma before drinking.. which the caesar seemed to have after adding rum. Hmm. I guess next time, I’ll test it out with vodka and compare.. because I can’t really stand that aroma :S I also plan on making a pina colada cocktail.

Time is flying.

July 26, 2008

Time is really flying. The past week has been so busy that I honestly feel like a robot and a zombie. The ratio of work to sleep is like 3:1. Haha. But I’m still alive, still hanging in there. Despite the busy schedule, I’m very thankful for many things in life. It truly took “a lot of prayers to get me through” (Backstreet Boys – The Perfect Fan).

Today I almost missed the deadline for a small assignment for one of my course… and luckily, I didn’t miss it and even finished it on time. Thank God. Even though it’s not a lot of marks, but every effort helps.

Since my last post(s), I’ve been researching a lot on the laptops… and I have to say that I no longer have the Vaio NR series in mind. Instead, the CR series is what I’m looking into. Like I mentioned before, if I wasn’t going anywhere, NR series is quite appealing – in terms of price and style. With that price, part of me is so tempted to purchase it just for the heck of it. Talk about shopping impulse hehe.

I also want a Samsung widescreen LCD!!

Recently ate food: Tim Horton’s chocolate brownie iced cappuccino, caramel chocolate pecan cookie, California rolls, fish cutlet with poppy seed cream salad.

Recently ate food: apple caramel cheesecake; strawberry cheesecake; lemon tart; Tim Horton’s chicken club sandwich; Quizno’s chicken carbonara sandwich; Korean lunch consisting of salmon salad, seafood pancake, bibimbap, fried spring rolls and dumplings, and bulgogi; poppyseed cream chicken salad. I love love food <3

Tech Talk

July 21, 2008

I haven’t blogged for so long… the days have been busy busy with the same old. School, work, school, work. But today, I won’t be blogging about school nor work ;)

But I do want to blog about the 3G iPhone! It has been released for more than a week now (at least in Canada?). I don’t know why but the hype haven’t hit me yet. Perhaps, because I’m not really a phone person and I’m still very much in love with my white U600. However, I am quite a music person and I’m very attach to my music player but because I already have an iTouch therefore, I’m not tempted to get an iPhone at all. However, I do have to admit the 3G function (internet on the go) for the iPhone is rather appealing. But but.. because the phone plans here suck (hehe).. the 3G function doesn’t make it that appealing.

Next topic is laptop because I do have plans to purchase a new one. I do have a budget so it is quite a tough decision for me to pick the right one. I have the Sony NR series in mind which is under my budget. I love the design and the specs are good enough for me. The only problem I have is the 15.4″ size which is bigger than my current one. (Honestly, I wouldn’t mind IF I wasn’t going out of the country… but I AM..). Looking at the specs, if I compare it with other models such as Toshiba, Gateway or HP, I can get better specs (plus a mic and cam) for more or less the same price range. So that IS my biggest dilemma. In the back of my mind, I’m also considering the Sony CR series.. but I don’t know if that’s the price I want to spend.

Anyways, I will take my time to think about it.

The last topic is camera. I had an entry titled ‘Camera Talk’ back in May and well, I’ve finally purchased a new digital camera. Well.. the cameras I had in mind all along were the Canon G9 and Nikon P5100 but then I dropped the idea of purchasing a pro-ish camera because I wanted a more compact one. Then the one I was going to purchase was the Canon IXUS 860 but in the end, I got a Panasonic FX36. It won’t be in my hands until August so I’ll blog about it then. Yeah, hopefully in the very near future, I can get my hands on a semi pro camera.. either Canon, Nikon or Ricoh. I also like some of the models from Samsung. Yeah, I love the old school-ish styles <3

These are the days

July 14, 2008

The past days, I feel like I’ve gone back to the old shoapholic me ;)

I guess it’s also been very pleasant.

I enjoy being able to walk under the warm sunshine in shorts and in my Roberto Cavalli sunglasses, sipping to a caramel frappuccino from Starbucks.

I can spend an entire day in a craft or art supply store. I love art and I miss art.

I love western food much more than Chinese food. Lemon tarts are one of my favorite food in my list… I can now add apple caramel cheesecake onto the list too ;) Lately, I’ve been eating soo unhealthily. I’ve been eating so much fried or junk food and also instant noodles. As cliche as it sounds, why do unhealthy food taste so good?

Still Breathing

July 6, 2008

Ah, so the past few days have gone by… like the wind! I’m tired… mentally and physically but I’m still alive, still breathing!

The past few days, I’ve gotten 2 pairs of flip flops, 2 black tops, and 1 bling necklace. It’s a ball design and I love it!

Coffee?

July 2, 2008

KFC’s chicken bowl <3

Quote of the day: “I don’t want coffee!” Good times, good laughs though completely awkward, embarrassing and random but I’m sure it’s just a random act of kindness.

Right now, I’m sitting here typing this with the window open… and the summer breeze blowing against me. I love these moments.. I love the summer breeze.. though the only thing I wish I wasn’t thinking about are the papers that’s due soon.. very soon.

I am not too sure but I think I hear thunder. I don’t mind ;) There’s something so relaxing about the sound of thunder.

Update

July 1, 2008

Life has been keeping me busy! It’s always about work or uni, and when I do get the extra time, I’m meditating (not really haha). But simply spending time to find myself again such as through sleeping, eating, watching TV or shopping.

The other day I went shopping and I got 2 short sleeve tops, a pair of flip flops, a poofy heart necklace and a pair of shorts.

Summer is finally here and I am not complaining too much since… I’m frequently inside air con. ;)

I’ve been eating way too much Taco Time’s mexi fries deluxe lately.. but it’s soo good. I’ve also been spending a huge portion of my money at Starbucks or Second Cup. I’ve drank about 3 cups of blended lemonade with green tea (Starbucks), 2 cups of strawberry lemonade (Second Cup) and 1 cup of strawberry & creme. I highly recommend the first 2 ;)

I’ve got 2 papers due by the end of this week! And right now, I’m spending Canada’s Day, the only free day I’ve gotten in the past few days, to catch up on my coursework!!
